Underfloor Heating In New Eco Homes
The housing developer company – Hayfield – are creating a new site in West Lavington in Wiltshire, providing that planning permission is approved. The 50 eco, energy-efficient luxury homes they are planning to build will all include underfloor heating.
The Future Of Housing Development
The proposed development of maisonettes, bungalows and houses will be heated by energy-efficient air source heat pumps combined with underfloor heating to significantly reduce the carbon footprint of each dwelling. Amenities will include ultra-fast broadband and electric vehicle chargers.
Hayfield plans on promoting biodiversity in the local area by creating an attenuation pond. As well as planting native trees and seeding areas with wildflowers full of nectar and pollen-rich in order to give a boost to the local bee community.
Talking to PBC Today, the Managing Director of Hayfield, Andy Morris, said:
“We are delighted to be kick-starting the New Year with such a prime acquisition!”
“This is our second site in Wiltshire, but Hayfield Wood in Broad Blunsdon is nearly an hour away. So this proposed scheme will appeal to a very different market.”
“As a reflection of the desirability and popularity of this area with aspirational purchasers, this scheme will become one of Hayfield’s most luxurious new developments.”
“The plans for each two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom home features room dimensions that greatly exceed those typically seen in the new homes market.”
“Our spacious designs and sympathetic architecture – which takes design cues from the village’s traditional properties – will be combined with an eco-efficient specification that far exceeds Building Regulations.”
“Following initial pre-application engagement. We look forward to continue to work with West Lavington District Council, local people and stakeholders, regarding our application.”
Room Size Affects Underfloor Heating
The room sizes of the eco homes are larger than most new homes. The underfloor heating requires cooler temperatures than radiator-based systems but provides warmth to make large rooms feel cosy and comfortable. The eco-home development is designed to appeal to environmentally concerned buyers who want a more luxurious style of home.
People don’t need to live in a luxury eco-home to enjoy the energy-efficient benefits of underfloor heating. Most homes can be fitted with underfloor heating systems to improve the property. As long as the home is well insulated, underfloor heating should reduce energy bills.
Hayfield is working closely with the local council, stakeholders and local residents regarding the planning application.
